Our Mission

 The Dodworth Saxhorn Band brings America’s 19th Century Musical Past to Life in the 21st century through storytelling, song and period music played on historic instruments to entertain, engage and educate. 

Values

 

  • Education: to encourage a deepening knowledge, understanding and appreciation of our history.
  • Entertainment: to make history interesting and enjoyable to our audiences.
  • Authenticity: to faithfully interpret 19th Century America for 21st Century audiences.

  • Relevance:  To make 19th Century American history meaningful to today’s audiences.
  • Preservation: to preserve historic “Saxhorn” brass instruments for future generations to see, hear and appreciate.
